Funding success for audio guide in the MPIPZ show garden
We are delighted that the funding for our innovative audio guide project has been successfully secured. Thanks to the generous support of 11,000 euros from the Marga and Walter Boll Foundation, the project can now be realised.
The audio guide will enable our visitors to embark on an exciting journey of discovery through the various areas of the show garden. It will provide valuable information about the diversity of plants and their benefits, as well as vividly explaining the history and techniques of plant breeding research.
In addition, current plant research projects will be presented through interviews with researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research. This strengthens confidence in science and enables visitors to better understand topics relating to plant research.
The new audio guide will be playable directly on smartphones via a QR code. The project is designed to be sustainable thanks to the possibility of adding and updating contributions. The audio guide also offers a valuable alternative for people who find it difficult to read our display boards by allowing them to expand their knowledge of the spoken word.
Development of the audio guide will begin shortly and the launch is planned for the next gardening season. Visitors can look forward to exciting stories about plant research, which will make the tour of the show garden even more informative and entertaining.
"We are delighted with the positive response and the generous support that the ‘Verein der Freunde und Förderer des Max-Planck-Instituts für Pflanzenzüchtungsforschung e.V.’ has received. The audio guide will offer our visitors an enriching experience and expand our educational programme." Mia von Scheven, Head of Communication MPIPZ.
