PhD Welcome Days 2023 at MPIPZ
 

Our new PhD students spent two days exploring the life at MPIPZ and Cologne.
 

Once again this year, our PhD Office, under the direction of Monika Schlosser, organized two fantastic welcome days for our new PhD students.

The new students had the chance to get to know each other and to learn more about services and resources provided by the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research (MPIPZ) and the University of Cologne. A wide variety of presentations were given, ranging from work safety to presentations of the Core Facilities and the Ombudsship, and burning questions from the student audience were answered. 

A highlight for our 15 international newcomers from 7 different nations was the Cologne city rally, which ranged from the MPIPZ to the University of Cologne. The tour ended with a social get-together in the Belgian quarter.
